A story of overcoming difficult circumstances. A story of growth. Her story was the first story that taught me this:

My mother, Petrona, had a difficult life early on in her marriage. She suffered many hardships that would break any person’s spirit down, however, she managed to overcome each chaotic event that presented itself to her. Where did she get the strength to overcome? Why did she never give up? As I grew up and saw her fight for a better life, I wondered what made her different from women who did not get to live out the happy ending she did. This is where Power Peace and Love began. A seed of passion was planted in my heart to share her story, and begin to share the stories many other women, with a mission to empower them - so that they can then empower the next woman, and the next woman, and the next - to overcome and thrive in life.
Mi madre tuvo una vida difícil al principio de su matrimonio. Sufrió muchas dificultades que romperían el espíritu de cualquier persona, sin embargo, logró superar cada evento caótico que se le presentó. ¿De dónde obtuvo la fuerza para vencer? ¿Por qué nunca se dio por vencida?
